/ 03:13 AM June 23, 2017

National Poison Prevention Week is observed every fourth week of June by virtue of Proclamation No. 1777 signed on May 18, 2009 by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. According to the proclamation, an average of 10 people are received daily by the National Poison Management and Control Center of the Philippine General Hospital for toxicologic management within Metro Manila and other parts of the country. The Department of Health and Philippine Society of Clinical and Occupational Toxicology are tasked to lead activities commemorating National Poison Prevention Week. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
