Cebu City hall employee killed, 6 hurt as car falls into ditch

CEBU CITY — A Cebu City Hall employee was killed while six others were wounded on Wednesday when the vehicle they were riding fell into a ditch in a mountain village of Bonbon, Cebu City.

The lone fatality was identified as Vitor Reyes, 40 , said Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor for police matters.


He identified those wounded as Esparaguera Andres Jr., 51; June Lifer Cantaruna, 30; Danelo Opurto, 61; Michael Amante, 32; and Egnasio Ocampo, 34.

The victims were employees of Cebu City Hall’s General Services Office (GSO) who went to Barangay Bonbon to distribute tents.


They were heading back to their office when their vehicle lost its brakes and fell into a ditch.  SFM
