Customs agents seize P1-B fake cosmetics in Bulacan

GUIGUINTO, BULACAN–The Bureau of Customs seized P1 billion worth of fake cosmetic and beauty products during Wednesday’s raid of an industrial warehouse zone here.

The BOC Intellectual Property Rights Division padlocked the storage facilities at the R5 RIS Industrial Warehouse Site in Barangay (village) Tabe, according to team leader, lawyer Zcae De Guzman.

One of the warehouses that stored manufactured bed foams also kept drums of toluene, a chemical ingredient used in making shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), De Guzman said.

The owner of the toluene could not present any clearance or permit from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, which is a requirement for purchasing and storing the chemical derivative, she said.
