Isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday.
Within 12 hours, thunderstorm will more likely develop over the entire Metro Manila.
But as of 11 a.m., Pagasa said moderate with occasional heavy rains are already affecting Metro Manila (Muntinlupa, Las Pinas), Cavite (Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Gen Trias, Tanza, Rosario, Carmona, GMA), Laguna (San Pedro, Binan, Sta. Rosa), Batangas (San Jose) and Quezon (Mulanay, Catanauan, Lopez, Sampaloc), which may persist for an hour and may affect nearby areas.
The state weather bureau said a ridge of high pressure area (HPA) is affecting the eastern section of Luzon and of Visayas.
Thunderstorms are also expected over Bicol Region, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Davao Region, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Leyte and Southern Leyte, Samar, Cebu.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Abra, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Northern Samar.
Light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to south will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, and from the south to southwest over the rest of the country, Pagasa said.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added. JPV/rga
