Congressmen needled Resorts World Manila (RWM) chief security officer Armeen Gomez over security lapses, including posting a lone guard who helplessly failed to stop the armed Jessie Javier Carlos at the entrance.
Gomez, who was discharged from the Philippine Military Academy, later got into trouble for claiming he was a college graduate only to retract this under intense grilling.
But RWM chief operating officer Stephen James Reilly supported Gomez and the security team.
“Please understand Mr. Gomez is not just one man. Behind him are other professionals and the security team,” Reilly said.
But he owned up to the lapses.
“When we played the first videos, I pointed out there should have been security personnel posted on certain points and they were not present,” he said.
