Rizal drug suspect killed, ex-village official in Romblon nabbed
SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — An illegal drug suspect was killed by the police in Rodriguez town in Rizal province while a former barangay (village) official in Romblon town in Romblon was arrested during separate buy-bust operations, police said.
In Rodriguez, Rizal, a suspect identified only by his alias “Taloy” was killed in a buy-bust operation around 1 a.m. on Tuesday in Barangay (village) San Jose, a report from the Cavite Laguna Batangas Rizal Quezon (CALABARZON) Police said. The report also said the suspect engaged policemen in a gunfight during the sting operation.
In Romblon town, the police arrested Andres Aliño Madeja, 40, who ranked third on the local police’s list of “high value targets” for illegal drugs.
Supt. Imelda Tolentino, spokesperson of the Mindoro Marinduque Romblon Palawan (MIMAROPA) police, said authorities recovered two sachets of suspected “shabu” (methampetamine hydrochloride) and a motorcycle from the suspect, during the buy-bust around 3 p.m. on Monday.
