RR GARCIA led a one-sided rout with 16 points as the NLEX Road Warriors decimated the PC Gilmore Wizards, 85-61, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup over at the Adamson University Gym.
The Road Warrior made short work of their overmatched opponents, dominating practically every department with their size, agility and aggressiveness. NLEX pulled away right in the opening period as the Garcia, last year’s UAAP most valuable player, and Woody Co picked up their offensive rhythm early.
It was the second straight blowout loss for the Wizards, visibly hurt with the continued absence of Fil-Ams Kelly Nabong, AJ Mandani and Rome dela Rosa. The trio could only watched helplessly from the sidelines as they await their certificates of recognition from Bureau of Immigration and Deportation to be able to suit up in the fledgling league.
Calvin Abueva collected 14 points and Garbo Lanete scored 12 for NLEX, which built a 27-13 lead after one quarter. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
