KELLY Fisher of Great Britain defeated Pei Chen Tsai of Chinese-Taipei, 10-4, in the championship match on Sunday to rule the 2011 Yalin Women’s World Ten-Ball Championship at the Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas.
The title was Fisher’s first WPA world crown.
In the semifinals, Fisher beat Yu Han of China, 9-4 while Tsai routed Ga Young Kim of Korea, 9-4.
Fisher, a former US Open women’s champion was undefeated in this event. In the final stages, she defeated Akimi Kajatani of Japan 8-2, Lai of Taipei 8-5 and Han before winning against Tsai to pocket $20,000. Correspondent Marlon Bernardino
