According to the latest data from the Department of Health, a total of 4,195 dengue cases were reported in the National Capital Region from Jan. 1 to May 6, 2017. This is 15.5 percent higher from the recorded 3,633 cases from the same period last year. By geographical areas, Metro Manila, accounting for 12.4 percent of the total cases, was the region with the third most number of cases during the period, following Central Visayas with 15.8 percent and Central Luzon with 13.4 percent. Latest data from the DOH also showed 22 recorded deaths due to dengue in Metro Manila during the period.
