DepEd launches recycling contest

The Department of Education (DepEd) is incorporating environmental and oral health consciousness to this upcoming yuletide celebrations.

It has launched a contest among public elementary schools nationwide in creating a gigantic Christmas-inspired décor using recycled toothpaste sachets.

In a statement, Education Secretary Armin Luistro said the contest is a novel way to promote oral health awareness among public school students while instilling in them the importance of recycling waste materials as a way to protect the environment.

The gigantic Christmas decor should measure at least 8 feet in height, 6 feet in width and 6 feet in length.

Luistro said 17 regional winners will be named on November 29 and from the pool of regional winners, three national winners will be chosen.  Niña Calleja
