Pangasinan store owner dead in gun attack

DAGUPAN CITY-A businessman was shot and killed by two men in front of his store in Malasiqui town in Pangasinan province on Wednesday, police said.

Edmund Mendoza, 65, was sweeping the area outside his store in Barangay (village) Poblacion at 6:05 a.m. when two men on a motorcycle attacked him, said Supt. Roland Sacyat, Malasiqui police chief.

The gunmen fled toward Bayambang town, Sacyat said.

Mendoza, who had two bullet wounds in the head, was taken to a hospital in Malasiqui but died while undergoing treatment, police said. RJLA
