PUERTO PRINCESA CITY—Five people, including three children, died after a landslide triggered by torrential rains on Monday night buried four houses in this capital city of Palawan province, authorities said on Tuesday. Archie Robert Alarcon, program manager of the city’s Kilos Action Agad Center, said Marites Vidor, 42, and her children—Ashley, 1, and Asmir, 2—died after their house in Barangay Liwanag was hit by the landslide at 10 p.m. Vidor’s husband, Allan, was dug out by rescuers but died while undergoing treatment. Alarcon said another child in the
neighborhood, Aiah Rabon, 1, also died in a local hospital. Authorities said 25 families in the landslide-hit area in Liwanag would be relocated. —REDEMPTO D. ANDA
