7-year-old girl needs P200,000 for heart operation

As a 7-year-old with a congenital heart problem, Mary Maxine Ligeralde needs to undergo an operation.

At 50, her mother Mari-ques Ligeralde, may also be too old to carry her on her back every time she went to school. Ligeralde gets tired easily whenever she walked to school.

“I end up not being able to catch my breath myself because of my age,” Mariques told the Inquirer, calling from their house in Trece Martirez City.

She said her common-law husband Maximino Layno, a jeepney driver, cannot raise the P220,000 needed for their daughters operation at the Philippine General Hospital.

“Right now, I am being pressured by the attending doctors to have the operation to avoid complications. It is for this that I am asking your help and your readers. We’ll be forever grateful for your kindness,” she said.

The child is suffering from the abnormal development of her heart.
