DID YOU KNOW: Arnacal Flight

On May 29, 1936, aviators Juan Calvo and Antonio Arnaiz flew the “Commonwealth” and became the first Filipinos to fly from Manila to Madrid, Spain. The two pilots flew the old, patched-up plane and reached their destination on July 11, around two months later. The successful flight was the first of its kind in the history of the Philippines.
