Capitol trader killed on 3rd attempt

/ 08:22 AM May 25, 2011

A businessman was shot to death yesterday morning in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.
It was the third time someone had tried to kill Kenneth Teo, 39, since last year but this time the victim didn’t survive.
Police said Teo was attending to his water refilling station on Don Mariano Cui when an unidentified man approached him around 9 a.m. and fired into his chest and neck.
Teo died past 4 p.m. at a private hospital in Cebu City, said SPO4 Rey Cuyos of the Cebu City police.
Witness accounts said the gunman was eating banana cue a few meters from the water refilling station before the attack then fled on a motorcycle driven by another man after the shooting.
Teo also owned a laundry shop and a dried fish stall at the Taboan Market.
Police said the first two attempts on Teo’s life happened on Nov. 12 and Dec. 10 last year in front of his dried fish stall.
The motive for the violence is still being investigated. The victim had told police that he could not think of anyone who could be behind the attacks. /CHITO O. ARAGON
