The Negros Island Region (NIR) was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 183 signed by then President Benigno Aquino III to boost the economic and social development of its provinces. The region is comprised of Negros Occidental province, formerly under Western Visayas, and Negros Oriental province, previously under Central Visayas. But the region is in limbo due to fund shortage. President Duterte is also planning to draft an executive order to scrap the NIR.
June 1, 1903
The Moro Province was established comprising the districts of Jolo, Lanao (now divided into Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur), Cotabato, Davao and Zamboanga, which became the capital.
