Teacher dead, 20 hurt as jeep falls into ravine in N. Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN City, Philippines—A 60-year-old teacher was killed while 20 others were injured when a jeepney fell into a ravine in President Roxas town in North Cotabato on Monday afternoon.

Chief lnspector Nestor Cachuela, the town’s police chief, said the passenger jeepney was on its way to the village of Linao Matalam when it fell some 60 feet down a ravine.

Cachuela said the jeepney driver lost control of the vehicle, which was said to have malfunctioned.

The lone fatality was identified as Teresita Algar, a teacher of Linao High School.
