DAGUPAN CITY — A magnitude 3.4 quake shook Pangasinan province at 9:22 a.m. on Thursday (May 25).
But a disaster response official in Lingayen town said no damage was expected from the minor temblor.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on its website that the quake’s epicenter was located 15 kilometers southwest of Sual town and was 13 km deep.
The quake did not disrupt the operation of the 1,218-megawatt Sual coal-fired power plant, the country’s biggest coal-fired plant, said Noel Cabobos of the Pangasinan disaster risk reduction and management office.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected. SFM/rga
