Palace denies fake proclamation declaring Friday as non-working day

Malacañang on Wednesday had to issue a clarification about the fake document circulating on social media about Friday being a “non-working day.”

“The Office of the Executive Secretary wishes to clarify that Proclamation No. 197 is the declaration of April 28, 2017 (Friday) as a special (non-working) day in Metro Manila for the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit 2017, hosted by the Philippines,” said a statement sent to Palace reporters.

“The Proclamation 197 circulating through social media declaring May 26, 2017 (Friday) as special (non-working) day in Metro Manila in observance of the 1st Tarawih of Ramadan (Sighting of Ramadan Moon) is spurious,” it said.

It also urged netizens not to share the document. JE
