DAGUPAN CITY — The police on Wednesday (May 24) seized weapons and ammunition during simultaneous raids on the houses of six men, including the municipal administrator of Bani town and two barangay (village) chairmen in Pangasinan province.
At 5 a.m., police teams searched the homes of Bani administrator Tammerlane Soriano Olores, Barangay Garrita chairman Marcelo Tugas, Barangay Colayo chairman Ronaldo Canaria Bayna, and drivers Ariel Canaria in Colayo, and Tirso del Rosario and Arsenio del Rosario Jr. in Barangay Centro Toma, said Senior Supt. Oliver Lee, provincial police director.
The search warrant for unlicensed weapons addressed to Olores was issued by Agoo Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Romeo Atillo Jr. of La Union province. Olores’ house yielded an M16 rifle, two .45-pistols, magazines and ammunition.
Police said they found an unlicensed weapon in each of the other suspects’ houses. Their houses were served search warrants issued by Bauang Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Ferdinand Fe in La Union province. SFM
