Grenade lobbed at house in Cotabato City; 1 hurt

COTABATO CITY, Philippines—One person was slightly hurt when unidentified men riding in tandem on a motorbike lobbed a hand grenade at a house in a subdivision here Monday morning, the police said.

The blast occurred at the residence of Aurora Macarimbang on Aguila St., Federville Subdivision, Barangay Rosary Heights 11 here at about 4:35 a.m.

Supt. Roberto Badian, city police chief, said the fragmentation grenade was hurled at the roof of the Macarimbang residence.

A househelp suffered cuts from broken glass, police said.

Ali Macarimbang said they have no idea why they were attacked, claiming neither he nor any member of the family has any known enemy.
