MANILA, Philippines – The National Bureau of Investigation said on Monday that it is impossible to place Ma. Ramona “Mara” Bautista in the International Police (Interpol) red notice list.
Quoting NBI Director Atty. Magtanggol Gatdula, a 990AM report said that without an arrest warrant and a minimum of two years imprisonment sentence, the younger sister of Ramgen Jose Bautista, the slain son of Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., could not be included in the Interpol’s red notice list.
Gatdula added that he has not received a formal directive to coordinate with the Interpol in locating Ramona from Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
The least that the NBI could do at this point was to request information about Ramona’s movements from the Turkish government.
And since the Philippines does not have an extradition treaty with Turkey, Gatdula said that a dialogue between government officials of the two countries was needed in the event that Ramona would be forced to return to the country.
Ramona has been tagged as one of the seven suspects in the October 28 attack that left Ramgen dead and his girlfriend Janelle Manahan badly wounded in his home in Parañaque City.
Her younger brother Ramon Joseph and two others have been taken into custody by authorities last week.
