5 hurt as bus rams toll booth in Parañaque

MANILA, Philippines—Five persons were injured after a bus rammed one of the booths at a toll plaza in Parañaque City Monday morning, a 990AM report said.

Edgardo Loreca, the driver of the bus (NXS-663), told authorities that he drove the bus towards the toll booths when its brakes failed, in order to avoid hitting other vehicles.

There were no vehicles going through the toll gate but two tellers were inside the booth the bus hit, the report said.

The three passengers were also injured in the accident and were rushed to St. Dominic Hospital in Bacoor, Cavite.
