The Barako Bull Energy bounced back from a 21-point loss the last time, venting their ire on the cold-shooting Powerade Tigers with a devastating 117-78 decision in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.

After enduring a 72-93 loss to the Alaska Aces last Wednesday—a loss that ended a four-game win streak—the Energy played like a team on a mission, breaking the game apart in the first quarter to score the huge win.

It was an all-Barako Bull story, posting leads of as many as 53 points in the fourth to easily bag its fifth win in seven games.

All the 13 players fielded in by coach Junel Baculi managed to score led by the 20-point output by Sunday Salvacion. Willie Miller scored 16 markers, while Paul Artadi had 14. Leo Avenido and Danny Siegle finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

FEATURED STORIES

The game was so one-sided that the Energy erected a mind-boggling 105-52 lead in the final 8:22 mark of the game.

Powerade’s struggle was attributed mainly on Gary David’s dismal offensive showing.

After scoring a career-high 42 points in the team’s 108-94 win over Petron last week, the prolific guard just managed five points.

With David struggling, no one was able to carry the scoring slack for the Tigers as Sean Anthony and Doug Kramer were the only Tigers able to score in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Tigers crashed to their fourth loss in seven games.
