PH U-13 head coach Colina to attend AFC coaching course in Malaysia

OLIVER Colina, the head coach of the Philippine Under 13 team known as the Little Azkals, will leave for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia tomorrow to attend the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course, which will start on Wednesday and end on Nov. 28.

The AFC ‘B’ Coaching Certificate is open for coaches who already have the ‘C’ Certificate. It is designed to educate coaches in the advanced techniques and skills of the game, and to help them develop a better understanding of individual or groups of players, tactics and the mental requirements of the game.

Colina will be the only Filipino taking the course.

Should he pass the three theoretical and three practical examinations that are part of the course, he will join a handful of Cebuano coaches who hold ‘B’ certificates such as Glenn Ramos and Mario Ceniza.

Ramos is currently the head coach of the Philippine Under 16 team known as the Teen Azkals and also coaches the secondary football team of the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) and the tertiary team of the University of Cebu (UC).

Ceniza, on the other hand, is the head coach of the Cebu Queen City United (CQCU), the first Cebuano team to play in the  the United Football League. He also coaches the Springdale football team./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
