Suspected NPA rebel killed in clash with soldiers in Pagadian

DAVAO CITY – An alleged communist rebel was killed when soldiers and New People’s Army guerrillas clashed in Pagadian City on Wednesday.

In a report, the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division said the firefight occurred in Barangay Lisson Valley around 12:40 p.m.

The slain rebel was only identified by his surname, Becsala.

Also recovered along with Becsala’s cadaver were a hand grenade and a flag of the NPA, along with several documents.
