ILOILO CITY— Unidentified persons burned two pieces of heavy equipment in Banga town in Aklan early Tuesday, according to an initial report reaching the Western Visayas police office.

A grader and road roller were burned around midnight in Barangay Daguitan in Banga, nine kilometers south of the capital town of Kalibo, Aklan.

An undetermined number of persons on board two motorcycles drove near the two pieces of heavy equipment and sped away after a few minutes towards Madalag town, according to the report.

Investigators found pieces of wood soaked in substances believed to be used in setting the grader and roller on fire.

Police were still determining the motive of the burning and the identities of perpetrators.  SFM/rga
