Two storms to visit PH this month; monsoon ushers cool weather

At least two  storms are expected to come this month from the Pacific Ocean.

But they won’t be as strong as the previous tropical storms that struck the Philippines  in the past months, the state weather bureau Pagasa said yesterday.

Mactan weather analyst  Boy Artiaga said the cool weather indicates the presence of the northeast monsoon affecting the Visayas and Mindanao areas.

The   amihan is prevalent during the months of November and December and the transition  between the southwest monsoon and the northeast winds ushers in  rains, said Artiaga.

A shallow low-pressure area was seen 380 kilometer east of Northeast Borongan, Eastern Samar and embedded along the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Artiaga said the LPA will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in the country. Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
