Cebu Pacific reminder: Leave early

Low-cost airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) reminded passengers flying out during the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and the long Labor Day weekend to carefully plan their routes to get to the airport and avoid missing their flights.

CEB issued on Wednesday the reminder to its passengers as well as those of Cebu Pacific-Tiger Airways (Cebgo) amid road closures in Pasay and Makati cities for the country’s hosting of the Asean meetings.

Road closures for the 30th Asean Summit and related meetings from April 26 to 29 will include those leading to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) terminals 3 and 4.

CEB and Cebgo gave passengers traveling to and from Manila from April 28 to 30 the option of changing their flight schedules for free within 30 days of their original flights.

CEB further advised passengers flying out this weekend to be at the Naia early to process predeparture requirements and avoid long queues at the check-in, security and immigration counters.

“CEB domestic check-in counters are open three hours before the scheduled time of departure and four hours for international flights,” the CEB advisory said, adding that check-in counters close 45 minutes before the scheduled time of departure, except for Middle East-bound and China-bound flights.

The check-in counters for flights bound for the Middle East close an hour before the scheduled time of departure while those for Shanghai-bound flights close 50 minutes before the departure time.
