Tropical depression ‘Dante’ to enter PAR Tuesday night

The tropical depression off Visayas is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday evening, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 11 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the tropical depression was located some 1,300 kilometers east of the Visayas.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph, and moving west northwest at 11 kph.

The weather disturbance, which will be named “Dante” once it enters PAR, will be the second tropical cyclone to enter the country in April after “Crising.” YG/IDL/rga
