A second tropical depression in the dry season of April is likely to enter the country today (Tuesday), according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a low pressure area had been brewing outside the Philippine area of responsibility since the weekend and had turned into a tropical depression on Monday.
As of 5 p.m. on Monday, it was located 1,460 kilometers east of Visayas, still outside the country. It was packing sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 65 kph moving west-northwest at 18 kph.
Pagasa said the weather disturbance could enter the country in 24 to 48 hours and become a tropical cyclone that would be named “Dante.”
Dante would be the second tropical cyclone to enter the country this month.
