Waterspout seen in Batangas; no one hurt

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – A waterspout was spotted off the coast of Mabini, Batangas around noon on Sunday.

Lito Castro of the Batangas Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the waterspout, which formed over the sea between Mabini and the island municipality of Tingloy, was first reported to them by local officials of Mabini at 11:54 am.

Mabini Mayor Noel Luistro in a text message said the waterspout quickly dissipated.

Castro said no one was hurt as the tornado did not hit land.  He assured residents they had nothing to worry about.
