Faces of the News: Kris Aquino
She’s back in the news with a vengeance. After staying quiet since her brother, then President Benigno Aquino III, stepped down in June 2016, the once highest paid TV host has crashed the news charts again.
She has landed a role in “Crazy Rich Asians,” a Hollywood movie adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s 2013 bestselling novel of the same title.
The book is a satire about a clan of wealthy Singaporeans.
Aquino has flown to Los Angeles to meet with the producers and sign the contract, sources said.
Six Filipino actresses had auditioned but only Aquino had landed a role so far.
“At this particular point in my life, to have the Hollywood door open is God-sent,’’ she wrote on her Instagram post.
