Gunmen kill Marikina widower at home

/ 01:14 AM April 21, 2017

A 67-year-old man was shot dead by masked men inside his Marikina City residence on Wednesday night. The police said Roberto Dumlao, a widower and former overseas worker, was watching TV at his home on Capt. Sindo Street, Barangay Jesus dela Peña, when the assailants entered around 9 p.m. A witness said two men wearing full-face motorcycle helmets shot the victim several times in the body, killing him on the spot. Village watchman Gerald Torres said Dumlao was not on the local drug watch list. According to Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday Jr., Marikina police chief, an old grudge was being considered among the possible motives in the killing. —Jodee A. Agoncillo
