Gov’t workers required to take drug tests

/ 04:20 AM April 20, 2017

In support of President Duterte’s anti-drugs war, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has required public officials and employees to undergo periodic random drug testing, at risk of being dismissed if they refuse the test.

The CSC said state workers who would test positive for drug use will not be automatically dismissed but will be given the chance to reform.

In an order dated March 15 but released only April 19, the CSC said those who test positive for drug use will be assessed whether they are “experimenters,” “occasional users,” or “chronic users or drug dependents.”
