A magnitude 4.3 earthquake jolted Surigao del Norte on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck some 42 kilometers southeast of Surigao City at 12:26 p.m. It had a depth of 11 kilometers.
Surigao City felt the quake at Intensity II.
No damage and aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said.
Last February, a 6.5 magnitude quake in Surigao killed eight people and left more than 250 injured. /atm
