The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the premier investigating arm of the Philippine National Police (PNP), will undergo a major revamp following a six-month performance evaluation process, top police officials have announced.

CIDG Director Samuel D. Pagdilao Jr. said the revamp involved the designation of 13 special operations division (SOD) heads and regional chiefs to new posts.

In a statement, Pagdilao said this was just the “first wave” of adjustments to further improve the performance of the CIDG by placing the right people on the right job and to support the development of their individual careers.

Pagdilao added that the CIDG revamp was carried out to step up the campaign of the CIDG to arrest at least 50 wanted persons every month under a directive of PNP Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome.
