Fisherman rescued in Catanduanes after five hours at sea

Fisherman Renan Tabor was rescued off the coast of Baras town in Catanduanes on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

LEGAZPI CITY — A fisherman from Virac town in Catanduanes was rescued Tuesday by other fishermen from a neighboring town after five hours of floating at sea.

Petty Officer Third Class Joebert Ehurango, officer in-charge of Coast Guard Substation Virac, said that Renan Tabor fell of his boat at around 3 a.m. Monday (April 17) when he and a fellow fisherman Aldrin Tabuzo were off the shore of Baras town, also in Catanduanes.

At around 8 a.m., fishermen from Bato rescued Tabor, two hours after Tabuzo reported him missing at around 6:30 a.m.
