Rodeo Masbateño
Masbate City in Masbate province is transformed into a version of the Wild West full of cowboys and cowgirls during the festival, which aims to boost the city’s cattle industry. Events include cattle wrestling, whip cracking, bull riding, lassoing, casting down (three players bring down a cow with a rope) and carambola (usually involving two to four persons capturing a bull with bare hands).

Garlic Festival
The agricultural town of Pinili in Ilocos Norte province showcases garlic, one of its major crops, in the festival that coincides with the feast day of its patron St. Isidore. Activities are an agro-industrial fair, NGO night, balikbayan night, Sangguniang Kabataan night and ecumenical service.
April 19 to 23
Ana Kalang Festival
Known as the “Vegetable Basket of Laguna,” the town of Nagcarlan exhibits its agricultural products in a bid to promote its vegetable industry. Activities such as an agricultural fair, music festival, children’s sports competition and cultural programs will be held.
April 20 to 22
Boracay International Dragon Boat Festival
An annual dragon boat racing competition held on White Beach of Boracay Island in Aklan province. The festival, now on its 11th year, is organized by the Boracay Island Paddlers Association. Participants join in the 250-m and 500-m master races.
