LEGAZPI CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Coast Guard and police recovered 10 kilograms of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) estimated to be worth P50 million in Matnog port in Sorsogon Tuesday.

Vidal Bacolod, PDEA Sorsogon director, said several plastic bags containing the prohibited drug were found inside a green Revo car at 3:45 p.m.

“At first, they thought the abandoned car was carrying a bomb but when they had the door blasted, the vehicle is loaded with 20 pieces of shabu packed in transparent resealable plastic bags weighing half a kilo each,” Bacolod said in a phone interview.

An investigation was launched by PDEA to identify the owner of the vehicle through Land Transportation Office registration records.
