Amid summer, the state weather bureau is monitoring the possible formation and entry of a tropical cyclone east of Mindanao later this week.
In its weekly weather outlook, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecast “warm and dry weather conditions associated with sunny weather … over the archipelago” until Thursday, though the agency also warned of “some isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.”
Pagasa said the coastal waters throughout the archipelago would also be slight to occasionally moderate until Thursday.
According to Pagasa, this is due to the ridge of a high pressure area and the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific.
But due to a possible formation of a tropical cyclone east of Mindanao expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday or Thursday, Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms from Friday until Sunday, Pagasa said. —JAYMEE T.
