6-year-girl with leukemia needs P39K for last 3 chemotherapy sessions
Despite having been breast-fed as a baby, Kylie Sophia Ines was not as active or as big as other infants her age. Then at age three, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
“I really don’t know where she got it. No one in my family or on my husband’s side of the family has this ailment,” said Kylie’s mother, Melanie. A native of Daet, Camarines Norte, Melanie has since moved with her family to Marilao, Bulacan, where her husband, Joel, works as a factory worker.
She said that their only child who is now six years old has been undergoing chemotherapy at Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Kylie has completed nine cycles and has only three more to go. The family spends P13,000 per cycle.
“We’re scheduled for a checkup and the 10th chemotherapy session is on April 18. I’m appealing to your readers to please help my Kylie. We will be forever grateful to all of you. Thank you and I will pray for all of you,” Melanie told the Inquirer.
