2 drug suspects killed in clash with Ecija cops

CABANATUAN CITY — Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a clash with policemen early Monday  (April 3) during a drug bust in an unlit portion of the Valdefuente-Fortaleza Road along Lourdes village here.

Mario Velasquez, 38, and Victor Gregorio, 44, fired at undercover policemen when they sensed they were subjects of a police operation at 3 a.m., and were killed during the firefight, said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief.

Police recovered six sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), two handguns, a mobile telephone and a tricycle at the crime scene.  SFM
