Different parts of the country will continue to experience rains Monday as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” affects northern and central Luzon, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 24-hour weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said easterlies were also affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas and of Mindanao.

Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Caraga and the province of Quezon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos and Central Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, it added.

Pagasa said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas, and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

In its 10 a.m. advisory, Pagasa also said thunderstorm was more likely to develop over the National Capital Region within the next 12 hours. JE/rga
