Father faces rape charges

A FATHER in Mandaue City is facing arrest after he was accused of raping his 17-year-old daughter.

Police said they are waiting for the release of a warrant before the father could be arrested. Rape charges in relation to child abuse have been filed against the father, said police.

Police said the father allegedly started molesting the girl in 2007.

The daughter is the eldest among four siblings.

Police said the abuse was stopped when the victim’s brother saw his father touching the girl’s private parts.

The sibling reported the abuse to their aunt.

The victim is now under the care of her aunt, said police.

The brother did not inform his mother of what he saw because she has been suffering from a nervous breakdown./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
