Today, March 31, is the 133rd birth anniversary of writer and public servant Teodoro M. Kalaw Sr. He worked as editor of the revolutionary newspaper, El Renacimiento, and served as undersecretary of the interior. He was also appointed director of the National Library and Museum. Kalaw Avenue in Manila, where the current National Library is located, was named in his honor. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
