Abra village chief killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen

BAGUIO CITY — A barangay (village) chairman of Tayum town in Abra province was slain on Wednesday (March 30) by motorcycle-riding gunmen as he drove through the capital town of Bangued.

Daycarlo Paligutan Millare, 39-year-old chairman of Barangay (village) Budac, was driving an Isuzu Elf truck to Candon City in Ilocos Sur province to deliver Virginia tobacco when he was shot dead by gunmen riding on a black XRM motorcycle at 2 a.m. along Patucannay village, the Cordillera police said.

Millare’s passengers – Julius Millare Dionio, 33, and Freddie Alvarez Turalba, 47 – were unhurt.
