BATANGAS CITY — A female detainee yielded two sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) when prison guards at the Cavite provincial jail in Trece Martires City inspected the prisoners and their cells.

Supt. Egbert Tibayan, the Trece Martires City police chief, said  in a phone interview Wednesday, they would file another case of illegal drug possession against Leilanie Belda, a detainee at the Cavite provincial jail. Belda was first arrested and detained for similar drug charges in the past.

Tibayan said jail guards inspected the facility around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday and found the suspected drugs and an aluminum foil in Belda’s possession.

Declining to give details to protect follow-up operations, Tibayan said the police has started investigating prison guards for their failure to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the facility.  SFM
