Robredo’s birthday wish for Duterte: Good health, success

Vice President Leni Robredo wished President Duterte good health and success as he celebrates his birthday on Tuesday.

Robredo wore a red dress when she attended the Business and Technology Week at St. Paul University in Quezon City. She jokingly said she wore a bright color because it was the President’s birthday.

“Kaya ako naka-red kasi birthday ng ating Pangulo. Tayo naman ang pinaka-birthday wish natin sa kanya iyong kanyang kalusugan. Kasi ‘yun naman ang nirereklamo niya from the start,” Robredo told reporters in an ambush interview.

“Sana mas maging malusog siya tsaka syempre para na din sa kapakanan ng buong bansa wini-wish natin iyong maging matagumpay iyong kaniyang pamumuno,” she said.

(I wish that he becomes more healthy and of course I also wish for the welfare of the country that his leadership is successful.)

Robredo has been at odds with President Duterte after the latter’s allies prepared impeachment raps against her for expressing opposition against Duterte’s bloody drug war.

Duterte has, however, defended Robredo from her critics, saying he believes that the Vice President had no hand in the alleged destablization plot against him.  JE/rga
