CEBU CITY— A barangay tanod (village watchman) was shot dead in Consolacion town in northern Cebu early Tuesday.

PO2 Jean Pierre Punay, Consolacion police desk officer, said they were checking leads to identify the killer of Wilson Batucan, a resident of District 1, Barangay Cansaga in Consolacion town, and establish the motive for his killing.

Batucan was shot by an unidentified assailant in Sitio Latasan, Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion, about 6 a.m.

Punay urged those who might have information pertaining to Batucan’s killing to come forward and help solve the case.  SFM/rga
